Reseacrh Ideas and concept

Edmund McMillen
Edmund created a independ interenet game called Aether. What he did to come up with this game is he based the art and the meaning of this game around his drawings as a child and his life as a child. His childhood doubts were used to stencle the game. How he comes up with Ideas is that he expresses his feelings as child towards life into the game, what the game was about is how he felt about hmiself.
The first image shows what the games about, the story is about a boy by himself who has no friends who finds this monster. This monster has no freinds either so they go off to space to explore other planets. But it turns out each planet is either depressed or sad, so the boy and the monster help them. When they help them the planets are still upset, but each planet they help the earth shrinks. the game ends with the earth so small when they go back they break it, so they are left in space. This artist based this on how he felt, showing that he felt alone and had no friends. The drawing shows that the only friend he had was himself, this was used in the game. His way of coming up with Ideas and concepts are to base it around childhood memories and how he feels in life.
Matt Groening.
Matt Groening would base Characters around people in his life. For example he based the Simpson family around his family, He has two children, one called Homer and the other called Abe. So people who inspired him in life he re-created into character form, with some changes made about the character.

Leonardo Da Vinci
One of Leonardo's inventions was Ornithopter, it was a bat like gliding machine that was intended for flying. Da Vinci Studied the bat and thew movements of the wings and how they work. The way he created and thought this invention was to look at the animal and movement of animal he wanted his invetion based around.

David DeVries
David DeVries had a very intresting way of coming up with Ideas. He Used Children's drawings and re-created them into devilish realistic form. He goes around the stencil or takes the lines of the drawings and adds more life to them, makes them more realistic. The drawing on the left, on the left of the image is the origional image drawn by thew child, it can be any children's drawing. On the right side is What David has developed from this origional drawing.

Hayao Miyazaki
Miyazaki First decides who he wants his films for e.g. Children, Teenagers, certain family or freinds. And he will look around at certain thngs which are based on the things h wants. He will get influenced by Certain comics which are the same style and then starts to work on the films he wants now knowing what should be in the film and more.

John Lasseter
John based his animated Films around childhood imagtionation. He took what many people did as a kid, which was thinking toys came to life when you werent there. He comes up with Ideas by making what lots of people thought or believed as a child, come to life. So it will Appeasl to both Children and adults.
